This trail is rugged terrain that necessitates a mountain bike and some technical skills. If you have those, then the ride is a rewarding one.
This trail provides views of the Wind power to the North, the Susquehanna Nuclear Power Plant to the south, coal tailing piles, and the Keystone Sanitary Landfill at the heart of local Environmental Justice action and 38% of in-state waste comes from fracking drill cuttings and fluids. Park at the Price Chopper Plaza and ride to the Preserve passing the landfill along Marshwood Road. Along the way keep your eyes out for lumps of coal tailings now covered by forest on your left and right. Then enjoy the remarkable beauty of the Eales Preserve unique heath barren ecology!
