PENNSYLVANIA INTERFAITH

POWER & LIGHT

Communities of faith responding to climate change.

ABOUT PA IPL

Pennsylvania Interfaith Power & Light is aligned in its mission with IPL to cultivate a religious response to the threat of climate change. We see climate change as a moral issue, one that demands a response from people of faith.

ABOUT IPL

Interfaith Power & Light is mobilizing a religious response to global warming. Our mission is to inspire and mobilize people of faith and conscience to take bold and just action on climate change.

This campaign intends to protect the earth’s ecosystems, safeguard the health of all Creation, and ensure sufficient, sustainable energy for all. Since the year 2000, IPL has helped thousands of congregations address global warming by being better stewards of energy.

We have a track record of tangible results: shrinking carbon footprints and educating millions of people of faith about the important role they have to play in this challenging issue.

Interfaith Power & Light effort began in 1998 with Episcopal Power & Light and the support of Grace Cathedral as a unique coalition of Episcopal churches aggregated to purchase renewable energy. In 2000, the effort broadened its focus and brought in other faith partners. There are now 40 state affiliates, and we are working to establish Interfaith Power & Light programs in every state.
